Fully as annoying as I'd expected (though I was prejudiced at a young age by my love for Wyndham Lewis who said she was a shallow dilettante whose moneyed circle elbowed out real artists). It was quite good writing but she relied too heavily on a single stylistic trick: repetition. Eg talking of a g&t she would say: 'Gin. Gin and tonic.
